A Welcome
I hereby welcome to our homepage all users of Hoeje-Taastrup Gymnasium - students, parents, teachers and all those who are interested in educational matters.
Teaching is of course our main concern, but if you examine our website, you will find that as a place of work the school is much more than traditionally scheduled lessons.
Our goal is that after three or four years of tuition our students will have acquired the qualifications which form the basis for independently taking their lives into their own hands, learning to learn, and learning to live.
At all levels we challenge our students, and we meet them with demands and expectations. They shall acquire new knowledge and insight, and they shall learn the ways and means of co-operation which open to new professional challenges, new insight, reflection, and critical sensibility.
Our world changes, and so must our school. But change must have as a starting point the core values which form the basis for the Danish society. Values where a sense of community through history will benchmark enterprise and knowledge, and where dialogue precedes both habit and power.
Therefore our students have great influence on their own daily lives at the high school. And this responsibility makes it up to the students to use the school and one another. You only learn if you want to learn. All this demands curiosity and frankness on the part of each individual student.
Apart from lessons there are many cultural and social activities such as study groups, creative groups, and school board meetings where each student can exercise and take part in the democratic life of our school and make his voice heard.
